Liverpool forward Alexander Isak received a harsh rating of just 1 out of 5 for his performance in Sweden’s loss to Switzerland last night.
The 26-year-old, who recently made the switch from Newcastle United to Liverpool, has had a slow start at his new club — likely due to missing a full pre-season and still working his way back to full fitness and sharpness. However, if his struggles continue, it could soon raise concerns for both his club and country.
According to Svenska Fans, Isak endured a difficult night for the Swedish national team and was heavily criticised for his display. The match report was far from flattering:
> “Today’s team captain. Chased many balls. Hit the post with a good effort but failed to make much impact overall. Won a duel and went through on goal late in the first half, but rarely succeeded in his actions.”
The disappointing rating will be a blow to Isak’s confidence, as he is known to be capable of much better.
Arsenal striker Viktor Gyökeres was also singled out for criticism, receiving the same 1/5 score. Svenska Fans wrote:
