“Agent says Liverpool have a strong chance of beating Chelsea to sign ‘extraordinary talent’ who is ready to move.”
The agent of Lyon winger Malick Fofana has spoken about the player’s future, hinting at a possible move to Liverpool or another major European club.
The talented young Belgian international has impressed in Ligue 1, and a big transfer appears to be only a matter of time. Chelsea are among those interested, according to CaughtOffside, while Fofana’s representatives are also considering Liverpool, Manchester City, and Bayern Munich as ideal destinations.
Liverpool already strengthened their attack in the summer with Alexander Isak, Hugo Ekitike, and Florian Wirtz, so it remains unclear whether they’ll pursue another forward like Fofana soon. Still, his agent’s recent remarks are likely to attract attention.
Malick Fofana transfer update
Frederico Pena, general manager at Roc Nation Sports, which represents Fofana, praised the winger and suggested he is ready for a move to a top European side.
Speaking to HLN, Pena said:
> “This is the season for Fofana to showcase himself globally, especially ahead of the World Cup. At Roc Nation, we fully believe in him. Liverpool, Bayern, Manchester City—those are the kinds of clubs he belongs at.”
He added that Roc Nation discovered Fofana through their own scouting, describing him as an exceptional talent nearing the right moment for a transfer.
> “Next year’s World Cup will be held in the United States, Roc Nation’s home country. We want to guide players who can shine there, and Fofana fits that vision perfectly,” Pena continued.
He also emphasized the importance of developing Fofana’s personality off the field:
> “He has the potential to be a global star like Mbappé, Yamal, or De Bruyne, but he needs to grow as a character beyond football, and that’s something we’ll work on together.”
Could Liverpool sign Malick Fofana?
Given Liverpool’s current attacking depth, it’s uncertain whether Fofana would be a transfer priority in the near future. However, if he maintains his impressive form, Liverpool could revisit their interest.
Chelsea also remain in contention and may turn their focus to Fofana if other targets fall through, as he aligns with their ongoing strategy of signing and developing top young talents worldwide.
