Liverpool transfer target informs current club of his desire to leave

Liverpool are reportedly not the only club eyeing a move for Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi, according to Christian Falk in his CF Bayern Insider column. The centre-back has been a standout performer for Palace and has established himself as a regular for the England national team, so growing interest in him comes as no surprise.

Falk claims that Guehi has informed Palace of his desire to leave, and with his contract entering its final months, a move away from Selhurst Park appears inevitable.

In addition to Liverpool, both Bayern Munich and Tottenham Hotspur are said to be interested in signing the 25-year-old, making the race for his signature particularly intriguing.

Falk commented:

> “Marc Guehi is a very interesting player for Bayern Munich.”

He went on to explain that Bayern’s main challenge could be timing — whether Guehi remains available by the time they resolve Dayot Upamecano’s future. Falk added that Bayern are in discussions to sign him, but Liverpool were already advanced in negotiations during the summer, and Real Madrid could also be a strong contender — reportedly Guehi’s preferred option.

He continued:

> “It’s clear that Guehi has told the club he wants to leave this summer. Many teams are tracking him — Tottenham are very keen, Chelsea are currently not involved, despite Guehi’s history in their academy.”

Why Liverpool must secure Guehi

Liverpool came close to landing Guehi in the summer and still view him as a priority target. With Virgil van Dijk nearing the latter stages of his career and Ibrahima Konaté potentially leaving at the end of the season, the Reds urgently need to reinforce their defence.

Guehi, already proven in the Premier League, fits the profile of a reliable long-term option — but Liverpool will face stiff competition from several European giants for his signature.
